Welcome to the website of Stamford Bridge Under 9 Girls
Welcome to the very first Stamford Bridge U9 girls team. For this season we aim to have fun, teach the girls the basics of football and to get them into game situations ready to have an under 10 girl’s team to enter into the City of York Girls League for the 2012-2013 season.
Managed and coached by Helene Whytock, FA2 qualified and assisted by Chris Beard FA1 qualified and who is also our Junior Football Club Secretary, the training sessions include fun warm up style games, a small technical session on a chosen topic, followed by a skills session on the same topic which we then work into a small sided game. The game at the end is what the girls look forward too but they have to have a focus during that game to understand their role within the team they are in.
At the end of each session we have a ‘challenge’ situation where each girl is encouraged to take part and the winner receives a small prize at the end of the challenge. We promote a fun environment with a view to the girls learning the basics of being in a football team and hopefully they will progress as our other older girls teams have done over the past few years.
We also present a ‘trainer of the week’ trophy to the girl that we think has worked and understood the particular session
We currently have 14 girls that attend the sessions that are held at Low Catton Road Playing Fields currently at 9am every Saturday morning.
Should you be interested in joining us, please contact myself or our Club Secretary, Chris Beard.
I look forward to the season ahead with you all.
