2009-2010 End of Season Report
This season has been a stronger challenge for us compared to last season, however we have finished the season in a very respectable 4th place in the City of York U11 Girls League, and were very very unlucky losing the City of York Cup Semi Final against the eventual winners Poppleton on penalties. The work and commitment each and every player has put into the team this season has been faultless, and those that have had the opportunity to watch the girls play would agree that it is a joy to watch. Our goalkeeper, Hannah Robertson, is second to none. The defence, Natalie Lynch, Evie Walters and Emma Scothern have been strong. The midfield of Ellie Fitzmaurice and Eve Ferguson solid and our two strikers between them have scored 45 goals (Millie Templeman 31, Ellie Whytock 14) and have finished 1st and 5th as highest league scorers. We also give full credit to the subs, Heather Wright, Kirsten Wright, Olivia Smith and Sophie Foster who turn up week in week out and when needed fit in nicely to their required positions.
We have the Poppleton Tournament on 13th June to look forward which again we are confident that we will do well.
Both Ian and I are looking forward to a good 2010-2011 season and are confident that we will do well keeping injuries and illness at bay. Thank you to all the parents that continually support us and the girls and thanks to Dave Lynch and Mike Whytock for giving up time to ref our home games, it is appreciated both from Ian and I and the team.
Well done all keep it up and we look forward to a summer of training in preparation for the season ahead

2009-2010 Mid Season Report.
This season has started very steadily with us currently sitting 4th in the league with a game in hand on the 3 teams above us. Hopefully we will repeat the results of last season and the girls are raring to go after the Christmas break. Unfortunately we have not had a game since mid-December, what with the break and the recent bad weather, however we are hoping to kick off again with a home tie against our neighbours Stamford Bridge Scorpions.
The main squad has now been strengthened with 3 new signings and we welcome Kirsten Wright, Heather Wright and Olivia Smith to our squad. These 3 young ladies have impressed both Ian and I with their commitment and are improving immensely week by week. Each and every girl continues to be well mannered, hard working and dedicated and willing to learn. With the added commitment and assistance I have from Ian Fitzmaurice and wherever we end up this season, we cannot ask for any more and I'm sure Ian will agree we are proud to coach such a great bunch of girls.
League Cup 2010
We have recently been drawn at home to Scotton Scorchers in the preliminary round of the league cup, to be played 6th Feb 2010. The winners are at home to Tockwith in the 1/4 finals.
Helene Whytock.
