2009 City of York League Cup Winners!
Season 2008-2009
Our first season competing in the City of York Girls League U10 girls, and the City of York League Cup, panned out far better than expected.The hard work and commitment from every single one of the girls, and my sidekick Ian Fitzmaurice, playing in all weather conditions, resulted in us finishing City of York Girls League U10 Girls runners up, with York RI narrowly beating us for the title.
Winners! U10 City of York Girls League Cup 2009
The tables were turned in the Cup run, when we reached the finals against the league winners York RI. Having battled through and deserving a very late equaliser in normal time, it took us into extra time where we beat the league winners to become the first U10 City of York Girls League Cup winners, more than deserved. A lovely end to a great season.
